Briton Ferry Llansawel came from a goal behind to beat The New Saints at Park Hall on Sunday. The win keeps the Reds in second place in the Adran Premier and coupled with Cardiff City’s defeat to Wrexham closes the gap on the leaders to five points.
TNS took the lead in 15th minute as Molly Havard’s corner went in off Alice Broadley. Alison Witts saw her penalty saved to deny the Reds an equaliser in the 51st minute. Lowri Ridings did get the leveller in the 67th minute heading in from a corner. Then with five minutes left Laura-May Walkley’s long range effort found the net to give the Reds the win.
Ferry had a chance early on when Jess Denscombe played the ball into the centre to Alison Witts. Witts sent the ball to the left and found Alice Broadley who hit a shot wide.

TNS then had a shot as goal from out on the left but their effort was comfortably saved by Courtney Young.
The Saints took the lead shortly after when Molly Havard’s corner into the near post went in off Broadley.
The Reds had a chance to level the game early into the second half. Meg Kearle playing a good cross field pass into the run of Maia Owen. Owen made her way in to the box but was brought down by the TNS Keeper. Alison Witts stepped up but the keeper saved her effort.
Maria Francis-Jones then hit a free kick from distance that went high over the crossbar.
Ferry were level in the 67th minute when captain Lowri Ridings headed in. Ridings was free on the edge of the six yard box and directed Jess Denscombe corner into the net.
With the game level and time running out Denscombe won the ball in the Red half and played it forward into Meg Kearle. Kearle spotted the run of Walkley and played a perfect pass into her. Walkley took a touch before hitting a right footed shot into the bottom corner.
