Richardson is a Red

Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of Tija Richardson.

Tija joins the Reds ahead of the 24/25 Adran Premier season after sending last season at Cardiff City.  An injury cut short her season last year, but she made 17 appearances and scored five times for the treble winning Bluebirds.

The experienced midfielder is a four-time Premier League winner having won the title with Cardiff Met twice, Swansea City and Cardiff City’s last season.

Tija has been training pre-season with the squad and played in Ferry’s opening preseason games as the Reds faced Pucklechurch and Bristol Rovers.

Reds manager Rhys James welcomed Tija to the club saying,

“Really delighted to have Tija on board with us for the upcoming season.

“Tija has consistently played at a high level for many years, so this signing is a big addition for the football club.

“Tija has already shown her quality in training and our pre-season fixtures.

“She will also have a real positive impact on the younger players too with her coaching background and knowledge of the game.

"Welcome Tija”

After spending time at some of the biggest clubs in Wales Tija returns to her local area to play for the Reds

"I just wanted get back to enjoying a sport I love.

"Rhys, the other coaching staff and all the players have been very welcoming and the atmosphere around the club is great.

After time training and two pre season games with the Reds Tijia is impressed with how the team is progressing ahead of the Adran Premier season.

"There is no reason why this team can’t compete in the Adran premier this season, I’ve been here a month and seen what they are capable of.

"We have a competitive squad which will only make the team better.

"Each week we are gelling more as a team and getting stronger as a collective.

"In our pre season games we have shown we can compete against different levels so we need to take this forward into the season ahead."
