Briton Ferry Llansawel Under 19's suffered a narrow defeat to Cardiff City at Llandarcy Academy of Sport of Friday night.
Mia Pritchard had given the Reds the lead in the fourth minute but a Emillia Ashun goal saw the sides go level after 23 minutes. In the 43rd minute Lucy Malin gave the Bluebirds the lead.
The Reds drop to fourth spot in the Adran Under 19's South table. The Reds are just one point behind the top three sides Barry Town, Swansea City and Pontypridd who all have 16 points.
The Reds were given a free kick when Cardiff keeper Madison Kenzy-Aylett picked the ball up outside the box. The multiple pitch markings causing confusion. Mia Pritchard lined up to take the free kick and lifted the ball over the City keeper.
City got the equaliser from a corner from Paige Parsons, sent right into the box found the head of Emillia Ashun who sent a powerful header into the net.
Brooke Arthur went close when her long range effort needed to be tipped over the cross bar by Georgia Cobley.
The Bluebirds took the lead just before half time when Lucy Malin picked the ball up on the right and fired past Cobley from the edge of the box.
The Reds looked to get back into the game and Mia Pritchard went close to getting the equaliser. As Cardiff tried to clear a cross the ball fell to Pritchard who hit a shot that needed a good save from the City Keeper.
Grace Hughes then went close to making it 2-2 when after the ball went out to the right from a corner she went for goal from distance. her effort had beaten the keeper but crashed off the top of the cross bar.
