Match Preview: Pontardawe Town v Briton Ferry Llansawel

The Reds travel to Pontardawe this weekend as they look to continue their 1005 record for the season. 


The Genaro Adran South champions have 10 out of 10 of their matches in the league this season and look to finish off the season in style in their last two games.


After last weekends trip to Cwmbran Celtic was called off the Reds now will head to Pontardawe to try and make it 11 wins for the season.  The sides met on the opening weekend with Ferry running riot at Old Road winning 11-0.  Alison Witts was the star of the game scoring five on what was her Ferry Debut. 



The side also met in this seasons Welsh Cup with Ferry coming from a goal behind to win 2-1.  Catryn Cook gave Ponty the lead but goals from Lowri Ridings and Fleur Jenkins secured a win for the Reds.

Pontardawe find themselves bottom of the table with just four points but got their first win recently beating Caldicot Town 2-1.  Renee Day and Keira Harris getting the goals after they had fallen behind.  They lost in their last match 3-2 to Cwmbran Celtic but came from two behind before conceding a third with 11 minutes to play. 


Pontardawe will be up for the game as a win could see them go level on points with sixth place Caldicot and gain ground on fifth placed Llanelli Town. 


The match will take place at Parc Ynysderw with a 2pm kick off.
