The Adran Premier Championship Conference begins this weekend as Briton Ferry Llansawel host Cardiff City.  This match will see the top two sides clash with the Bluebirds holding a five point lead over the Reds.

The top of the table clash will kick off at the earlier time of 12:30 as the game is being shown live across S4C’s digital platforms.  When the two sides met in phase one Rhys James’ side won 3-1 in front a crowd of 480+ and the Reds manager was keen to praise the clubs support this season,

“The support we’ve received this season has been outstanding, and on behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to express our thanks to all those who come out to support us week in and week out.

“Their support has been invaluable in motivating the team and pushing us to perform at our best.

“We’ve felt a sense of drive when playing at home, and we’re determined to protect our home.”

  • The Reds are unbeaten in 29 league games at their famous home.

“It’s not just about maintaining a record – it’s about ensuring that visiting teams know they’re in for a tough challenge.

“From the outset, we knew that if we could deliver strong performances at home, we would not only attract supporters but also help secure our place in the league.

“I’m pleased to say that we have achieved both of those goals.”

Cardiff City will be well aware of the challenge of playing the Reds and will want to send a message by taking all three points in this opening phase two game.

Iain Derbyshire's side are unbeaten in their last five games with their last defeat being the 3-1 loss to the Reds in December.  Their winning run has seen them beat Barry 3-1, a seven goal thriller against The new Saints, a South Wales derby win, a Welsh Cup win and a win to end phase one over Aberystwyth.

Cardiff City have won the most games of all sides in the Adran Premier with 11 wins.  They have just two defeats one to the Reds the other coming at the hands of Swansea City with one draw.  The draw came when the Reds went to Cardiff International Sports Stadium and saw two late goals from the Bluebirds to pull back Ferry’s 2-0 lead.

As Phase two begins the Reds manager shared his thoughts on how the season has gone so far and what to expect,

“Phase 1 has been an exceptionally successful period for both the club, and I am proud of the results we have achieved.

“At the start of the season, our primary goal was to secure our position in the league, and I’m delighted to say that we have already accomplished this.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team.

“I’ve always had faith in the players’ ability to compete with any team in the league.

“However, we were fully aware that making the step up from Tier 2 would require quick adaptation and a great deal of resilience.

“While the season has been incredibly rewarding so far, we recognise that the final six games will be very demanding and we can't lower standards.”
