This weekend Briton Ferry welcome Wrexham to The Renewable Centre Stadium in the Adran Premier.  The game will see second place Ferry take on third placed Wrexham with a win for both sides vitally important in the race to keep pace with leaders Cardiff City.

With two games played in Phase two of the Adran Premier Wrexham are the only side to have won both of their games.  Their opening match saw two goals from Ava Suckley helped them to a 3-1 win over The New Saints at The Rock.

In their last league match they travelled south to the capital to face leaders Cardiff City.  Cardiff’s Lilly Billingham put the Bluebirds ahead after 31 minutes but Suckley got her third in two games in the 39th minute to level the scores.  Abbie Iddenden grabbed the winning goal for The Red Dragons in 56th minute.

That win took their winning run in the league to five matches a run that helped them leapfrog Swansea City to a top four place.  After a tough start to the season Wrexham have hit a rich vein of form losing just once in 11 games in all competitions.

The two sides will paly back to back over the next two weeks with The Reds travelling to Wrexham next weekend.  The game in Wrexham will be played at STōK Cae Ras and Wrexham will be looking to gain a better result than their 3-2 defeat to Swansea City.

With back to back matches against Wrexham Reds manager Rhys James says nothing changes in terms of approach for his side.

“We want to try and win every single game and leave the pitch with a performance we can be proud of.

“We didn't feel that in the previous Wrexham away game so there's a chance for us to put that right next week in a fantastic stadium too.”

The Reds ran out winners two weeks ago when they beat The New Saints 2-1 at Park Hall.  After five previous matches this season without Ferry gaining a win James believes his side deserved their victory,

“It was a much deserved result against TNS after the five hard battles we've had against them, I think we deserved to be on the right end of one.

“The team worked incredibly hard for each other and understood if we were to go home with three points, we would have to take our chances and we did.

“It does give us great confidence going into the Wrexham game now off the back of that.

“We’ve had four very positive training sessions leading up to Sunday so I feel the team is well prepared and ready.”
