It was a great way for Ferry to announce their return to the Adran Premier League and Manager Rhys James was pleased with the performance the team put on.

"It was great to start the season off with a win last week, and I feel a deserved win in the end.

"Looking at the stats this week, we dominated in key statistics that we work really hard on and the 2nd half was a massive highlight of that.

"Really pleased with the overall result but we got much more work to do across the full 90 minutes."

Wrexham opened their season with a defeat at home to champions Cardiff City.  After a third place finish in the Genaro Adran South last term they will be looking to challenge at the top end of the table again.

Wrexham brought in three new signings over the summer and all three featured against Cardiff.  There was a debut for new goalkeeper Lizzie Craven who signed from AFC Fylde.  There was also a first start for Nat Clark who joined from Liverpool Feds and Abbie Iddenden signed from Stoke City came off the bench.

Despite the new signing Wrexham will be hoping that last seasons top scorer Rosie Hughes can repeat her tally of 15 goals from last season. Carra Jones could also be key for Wrexham this season after her eight goals and four assists last season.

History is on the side of Wrexham who have won the last three meetings of the teams.  Two came last season as the clubs were drawn against each other in both the Adran Trophy and Welsh Cup.

While Wrexham may have the better in the head-to-head Ferry have won their last 22 league games at Old Road. A record that goes back to the last time the club were in the old Welsh Women's Premier League.

Rhys James was quick to acknowledge that despite the teams impressive home run that no game will be easy saying,

"We do pride ourselves on making Old Road a tough place to visit and we will hope that will be the same in the Adran Premier League.

"Every game is just as important as the next in this league, there is no easy game, home or away.

"Which is why it's important we get as many people at Old Road supporting the Ferry as possible, give this team the much deserved support they need!"

Briton Ferry Llansawel v Wrexham will kick off at 2pm on Sunday 22nd of September. Wrexham will be followed by Disney+ cameras with the Reds looking to continue their winning start to the season and impressive home form.
