Match Preview: Briton Ferry Llansawel v Swansea City

This Thursday night Briton Ferry Llansawel welcome Swansea City to Old Road in the Genaro Adran Premier.  Third place Swansea come to the Road as the Reds look to defend the fortress that is Old Road.

The Reds are on a win streak of 25 league games at their famous home and will be looking to ensure that it continues with a third home win of the season.  The Reds have won both of their home games in the league this season with a 3-0 over Wrexham and hammering Cardiff Met 5-0

Ferry’s last match saw them come away from Jenner Park with a point after a goalless draw.  Rhys James’ team dominated the game and created lots of chances but Barry held on to take a point.  The side sit fifth in the table currently with 12 points from six games.  They have the chance to return to the top four with a win or a draw enough to move them back above Barry Town.

This match marks the first of two home games in four days week for the Reds with Aberystwyth visiting on Sunday in the Adran Trophy.

Reds manager Rhys James shared his thoughts on having a run of home matches,

“Its always nice to have a run of home fixtures, and especially with our home form.

“Everyone should be really excited to be back there.

“We've made it really difficult for teams to come there so far, and we'd like that to continue Thursday and Sunday.”

Swansea sitting in third this season with 17 points will be looking for a win to see them level on points with second place TNS.  Their last match saw them beat Aberystwyth Town 3-1 at LLandarcy.  Their record for this season is five wins, two draws and one loss.  Their two draws were both to Barry while their only defeat came at the hands of TNS.

Swansea will pose a tough test for the Reds with talent all across their side.  Aimee Deacon and Stacey John-Davis both with four league goals for the Swans this season.

Rhys James is looking forward to the challenge saying,

“Swansea are always going to be a tough test.

“They have always been one of the top sides in the league and we are really looking forward to testing ourselves against them.

“We've shown this season that we can take points from the teams at the top, and be a real handful for them.

“We must do the same against a strong Swansea side Thursday.

“The team are high in confidence and hoping to put on a solid performance again”.
