Briton Ferry Llansawel host Penybont in the first knockout round of the Adran Trophy at Old Road. After a first defeat of the season last time out the Reds look to advance to the quarter finals of the Adran Trophy.
Penybont won their group to reach the knockout round winning all three of their games. Topping group four they beat Cwmbran Celtic, Pontypridd United and Cambrian United. They currently sit in 4th place in the Adran South with one win and one loss.
Their last match saw them beat Cascade 2-0 in the Adran South. Goals from Casey Daniels and former Reds player Mollie Jones. Another former Red in Lowri Barker also featured in the match.
As for the Reds their faced their first defeat of the season in their last match at The Rock to Wrexham.
The Reds have enjoyed a good start to this season however and sit in fourth place with a game in had that could see them go second with a win.
Reds manager Rhys James reflected on last weekends result saying,
“It's really important that we reflect and analyse what happened last week but then move on from this.
“We've had an excellent start to the season and we can't let one game affect us.
“Wrexham are a very good side and we all knew they would cause us problems.
“It's about learning and moving forward together now.”
Penybont have made a strong start to the season and the Reds manager praised what they are doing,
“Penybont won't be no push overs at all, they've picked up some impressive results so far this season.
“I think they are doing great things there and I would imagine they'll continue on the positive path they are on.
“We did play them in pre season so know a little bit about them, and will be welcoming two former players back to Old Road.
“We will not be taking this game lightly and I am aware of where they can hurt us.
“A strong performance is needed from us and hopefully back to winning ways again!”
