Briton Ferry Llansawel will welcome Aberystwyth Town to Old Road tonight in the Adran Premier. The Reds can confirm a top four spot for phase two of the league with a win tonight.
Aber will come to Old Road looking for a win to help pull them away from Cardiff Met at the bottom of the table. The green and blacks will be bolstered by the return of Gwenllian Jones who returns to the club after a spot spell at Cardiff Met. They have also signed Carys Bufton who joins from Barry Town United.
Aber Manager Chris Church saying via twitter,
“We are really excited that Carys has signed for us, and are hoping she brings her attacking talent and skill to the team."
Despite a defeat in their last match (losing to Swansea City 4-0), Aber were on a three game unbeaten run. A 13-0 win over Lampeter Ladies in the CWFA Ladies Cup was followed by a 1-1 draw at Park Avenue against Barry Town. Then came a 1-0 win over Cardiff Met with Jessica Baker netting the winning goal.
The two previous meetings between the sides this season have seen the Reds come out on top. A four nil win on the opening day of the league and then a 1-0 win in the Adran Trophy at Old Road.
The Reds have won their last 26 league games at Old Road which has become a fortress over the past three seasons.
A win would not only keep that run going but will see the Reds move into second in the table a point ahead of TNS and just four behind leaders Cardiff City with a game in hand. A win will also ensure that Ferry finish in the top four of the table on their return to the top flight and ensure another season of Adran Premier football at Old Road.
