Caldicot Town 0-8 Briton Ferry Llansawel: Reds win on the Road

Briton Ferry Llansawel beat a depleted Caldicot side 8-0 at Jubilee Way.


Caldicot suffered serval late pull outs meaning they had to start the game with just eight players. Ferry made the most of the extra space and time and made a quick start to the game. Lowri Baker giving the Reds the lead in the first minute. Megan Kearle added a second in the second minute as Caldicot tried to settle. Baker added her second and Alice Broadley and Fleur Jenkins with two made it 6-0 at the break.


The second half was a little flat as the Reds had the lead and control of the game. Jess Denscombe and Chelsea Deacon both added goals while Lucy Powell missed from the spot. Caldicot battled hard in and restricted Ferry's chances.


Chelsea Deacon made a run into the box from the left and squared the ball to Lowri Baker who calmly rolled the ball home.


Alice Broadley soon set up Megan Kearle who fired a shot into the far corner making two nil inside the first three minutes.


Lucy Powell took a shot from the edge of the box but fired it over the bar.


Alice Broadley made a run down the left and sent the ball into the box for Lowri Baker. Baker took a touch and then fired at goal, but her effort went wide.


Alice Broadley tried from distance, but her effort went straight at the keeper.


Chelsea Deacon was denied by a fine save from the keeper, who strong hand stopped her close-range header.


Alice Broadley added the third with a low shot from close range.


Moments later Fleur Jenkins won the ball in the box and her shot slipped though the hands of then keeper.


Caldicot won a corner and Sarah Sprintall headed wide.


Fleur Jenkins sent the ball across the box and found Lowri Baker who turned in from close range.

Megan Kearle made good run down the tight and sent the ball into the box where she found the run of Fleur Jenkins. Jenkins turned the ball home from close range.


As the half drew to a close Courtney Young was called into action saving a long range effort that was looking to be going in.

Jess Denscombe made a run tough the Caldicot defence and gave the Reds their seventh goal with her low shot into the bottom corner.


Lowri Baker’s shot was headed off the line after a good piece of passing play from the Reds.

Chelsea Deacon’s had an effort saved when her curling shot went into the arms of the Caldicot keeper.


Manon Thomas met Megan Kearle’s cross, but her header was saved by the keeper.


Mollie Jones’ low shot was saved by the keeper for a Ferry corner and soon after Ella Smitham hit the post with her long-range effort.


Manon Thomas was brough down in the box as she looked to break past the Caldicot defence. Lucy Powell took the spot kick but he keeper went the right way and saved.


Chelsea Decan’s curling shot looked to have been saved but the keeper lost the ball, and it went in.


A great ball across the goal gave Mollie Jones a fabulous chance to score. From close range Jones put the ball over the bar.


Manon Thomas tried a chip over the keeper, but her effort went over the bar.
