Briton Ferry Llansawel opened their Adran Trophy group with a 4-0 win over Swansea Uni in a hard-fought game at Llandarcy.
The first half was tight as the visitors tried to make it difficult and stop Ferry from playing. Fleur Jenkins and Laura-May Walkley had early chances and later in the half Meg Kearle hit the crossbar. It looked as though Swansea Uni would make it to the break level, but a Mollie Jones goal gave the Reds a 1-0 lead going into the second half.
The Reds made a quick start to the second half as Fleur Jenkins, Mollie Jones and Alison Witts all had chances to extend their lead. Swansea Uni were resolute in their defending and it took a penalty in 62nd minute for the second goal. Alison Witts scoring from the spot for her sixth of the season. In added time Manon Thomas added a third goal shortly after coming on the pitch.
Fleur Jenkins had the first chance for the Reds as she got a foot to a loose ball. She managed to get an effort on target that forced a save from the keeper.
Mollie Jones made a good run down the right and cut inside the box giving the ball to Alison Witts. Witts sent the ball to Laura-May Walkley who forced another save from the keeper.
Jenkins and Witts linked up allowing Jenkins a chance to chip the keeper, but she couldn’t get enough height on the ball to send it over the keeper.
Brooke Llewelyn sent a ball across the pitch finding Meg Kearle. Kearle sent a powerful drive at goal, but it cannon back off the crossbar.
The Reds finally made the breakthrough in the final minute of the first half. Alison Witts saw her shot hit the post with the keeper beaten. Mollie Jones was in the right place to tap in the rebound.

Meg Kearle lined up a free kick and swung the ball into the box. Alison Witts rose to met it sending a powerful header just over the bar.
Alison Witts had the ball just outside the area and turned quickly to get a shot away. The keeper managing to tip it over the bar.
Fleur Jenkins played a ball behind the defence that was picked up by Mollie Jones. Jones unleashed a low shot that needed a good save to turn it onto the post.
The Reds were awarded a penalty just after the hour mark for a handball. Alison Witts stepped up and fired the ball low into the bottom corner.
Hannah Pinney made a break into the Ferry box and was able to get a shot off, but she hit the side netting.
Meg Kearle sent a corner into the box which worked its way across to Lowri Ridings. Ridings hitting a shot into the side netting.
After a scramble in the Swansea Uni box that they were unable to clear the ball fell to Manon Thomas. Thomas fired a shot though the crowd to add the third.
Alison Witts hit a stunner from the edge of the box over the keeper into the top corner to give the reds a fourth goal late into added time.
