Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies players Lexi Clayton and Nia Davies showed one of the many ways the club is supporting its local community causes this year by visiting Local foodbanks. The foodbanks in Briton Ferry (Vernon Place community hub) and Neath (Orchard Place Baptist Church) received donations of essential supplies just in time for the festive period.
Lexi Clayton said,
" As a squad we feel it’s important to give back to the community. It’s been an extremely tough year for a lot of people, and we’re all fortunate enough to have a roof over our heads and food on the table.
“That's not the case for everyone and it’s sad to see so many people so close to home relying on foodbanks and donations."
Mark Adams, a Trustee at Vernon Place Community Hub said,
"Massive thank you, it will help those in need especially at this time of year"
Lexi went on to say,
"Speaking to the volunteers it’s clear to see the need for the foodbanks and we hope to support them again in the future.
“2020 has been a tough year for everyone, but it’s important to pull together and help those more in need than yourself."
Mark added,
"Our foodbank is open to anyone who is struggling and if anyone needs anything please don’t hesitate to contact us"

Visiting the foodbanks isn't the only way Briton Ferry Llansawel is supporting local good causes. Through the clubs monthly Charity Reds Raffle draw the club has currently donated over £2000 to local good causes since May and is aiming to continues this in 2021.
The latest beneficiary of the Reds Raffle is the Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of former Briton Ferry Llansawel under 16's player Megan Jones.
